FIBRE GLAS FIN CO

.
Larry Allison of Fibre Glas Fin Co is a stoker— A wealth of fin history and design knowledge gained from decades of experience that he shares openly. Graham of Shelter made a fin run to F.G.F.Co yesterday, and I jumped in for the ride. Here's a few pics through the halls of Fibre Glas Fin Co, where fins are made far, far away from China:
.

Fin templates that are in constant monthly production, shelved in the laminating room.
.
And heaps more templates stashed in another.

MELLOW GUNMAN

.
Met one hell of a mellow, nice guy at the beach yesterday. He made the fin, the 9' board was shaped by RGK— Something came off that thing that just made ya feel good.

.
We were talkin' surf and his parting words were, "Sometimes it's more of a thought than it is an actualality."

INCREASE THE SIZE OF YOUR FLEX DIRECTION! PROVEN RESULTS!!!

.
I love the 9" Narrow base GL Flex fin by Fibre Glass Fin Co— Noticeably more spring than the True Ames L-Flex fins. Recently picked up a 10" Wide base GL Flex at Shelter.
.
The wide base GL fins are a bit stiffer than the narrow GLs. I wanted the length of the 10" with the more pronounced flex of a narrow base. Used the 9"N to trace and blend an outline onto the 10"W. Jeff Beck cut it out and re-foiled it.

INCREASE YOUR PENIS SIZE, BECOME A SHERIFF! PROVEN RESULTS!!!

.
WHY SETTLE FOR FOR AN INCREASE OF MERE INCHES when you can be trained to BE A COMPLETE DICK THAT STANDS SIX FEET TALL!!!

.

.
I don't know about everyone else out there... I've experienced cool police officers, and cool highway patrol officers, but any time I've been pulled over for even a minor fix it ticket by a sheriff, the amount of aggressive attitude used by the sheriff heavily out weighs any necessity for it.
.
Yesterday was no exception. Complete dick from the get go. After a certain point the sheriff's attitude really started to irritate me. Seeing my mood shift, he proceeded to ask,
.
"Are you under the influence of anything?"
.
How do you tell a sheriff, "Yes, I'm under the influence of a big prick in my face and I'm not enjoying it at all!"?
.
I chose my words differently, "To be honest sheriff, the tone you've been using with me has gotten under my skin."
.
He looked at me in a way that required further explanation. I paused briefly to find the words to say what I was trying to say, without literally saying it, "Well," I said, "You're a masculine dude."
.
His eyebrows perked and his head proudly cocked up as if he'd just been payed a compliment. And with that he said, "You can go."

AUTUMN BLIPS

.
Sensed a bit of Autumn in the air Tuesday & Wednesday— A couple of those gem days that land on the calender of one season, but really belong to the next season yet to come. Like the first two blips on the radar of transition and change.
.

.
Also, a couple days of pinner waves where slowing down and tuning into the simple elements and subtleties of nature was a reminder of how much more there is to surfing than swell alone.

ALL IN A GOOD DAY'S WORK

.
Jacques: "We've had a good day, François."
François: "Umhmm."
Jacques: "But we must take care not to deplete the stock."
François: "True, we don't want to make the same mistake we made with the beaver."
