I haven't seen him cruising around for awhile. Good to see he's okay and still doing his thing.

I really enjoy your Gemologist quotes and posts. I met him in a laundry mat in Seal Beach, and thanks to your post from months ago, I was lucky and willing to have a conversation with him and share some food. Thank you for sparking some alternative thought.

Cynthia,

I crossed paths with Bill (Bicycle Bill or The Gemologist is what he told me he was best known as on the streets) most on P.C.H. anywhere between Newport and north Huntington Beach/Sunset Beach. The last time I saw him was in Corona Del Mar about a year ago. His hair was cut short that last meeting. If you ever decide to get out and look for him, He told me he liked to spend time in Silverado Canyon. He spoke of parks in Long Beach, though I'm not sure which ones. I think he spoke of Brea once, but I'm not positive I'm remembering correctly— maybe he said Buena Park? He also spoke of riding his bike on Beach Blvd., so Buena Park is likely, though I wouldn't rule out Brea because of it's proximity to the types of open land he like to hunt/gather in. The first time I met him was at the beach on the Huntington Beach side of the Santa Ana River mouth. I think he might have frequented the bike path along the Santa Ana River. One time he spoke of leaving California soon for Baja Mexico on his bike because he was tired of getting hassled by the police, but then I saw him of PCH again long after that. Who knows maybe he finally left California to get away? Every time I talked with him he spoke of another run in with Police, so, and I'm sure it's the first phone call you've thought to make looking for him, your best chance of finding him might be in custody/jail.

Here's all the blog posts I have about him:

I hope you find him. Feel free to ask any more questions that I might be able to drum up answers to.
