The Volcom Pipeline Pro contest finals were held today in front of "The Pipe House"— the house that Gerry Lopez and Herbie Fletcher shared throughout the 80's. As most know, The Pipe House is now owned by Volcom as a home for riders to stay at on visits to the North Shore.
.
Gerry and Herbie were hanging at the house and commentating at the contest throughout the week. Here's them, in the evening after contest day one, relaxing and reminiscing about the 60's & 70's while watching Pipe from the 3rd story balcony of their old home:

you dude are one lucky guy!
i will be watching all of these.
Seriously lucky. He's such a gracious legend.
Great video! I could listen to Gerry all day long. He's always got a deeper meaning and appreciation for what surfing brings to all of us. It is so evident in his book, "Surf Is Where You Find It," and it's evident in the mission statement he wrote for SRF (Surf Realization Fellowship).
