Lovin' it!
right on, pushing!
looking at the first photos..dredged up the memory of legendary John Kelly
of Hawaii,(inventor of the Hot Curl board) and his "hydroplane" design of about 1964...
semi gun template, elevated /split tail section with the underlying template continuing on similar to the board you have pictured...also, a very advanced fin template as well.
I believe it was featured in an edition of Surf Guide magazine...
I actually rode one at Pitas point..I was 13 but I still remember the feeling of lift..and speed.
what goes around..comes around.
great post!
The weird one...
The wing broke off when it got clipped by the groin in Bobo. Sad.
Rode it twice before this happened. Fast with drive and squirrelly. Was really fun though... I'll change to a wider based center fin. Anyway, I have to fix it, so its next iteration will be an asym. And then I'll have to revisit it next time I have some extra foam laying around.
Thanks for the post RT!
Cheers all.
my pleasure, Elias.
P.S.— that's what happens when ya get weird in the groin area.
