DERSU UZALA

.
.
One of the greats of cinema, DERSU UZALA, by Akira Kurosawa (1975). A Russian army land survey Captain, his small unit of survey soldiers, and their indigenous guide, Dersu Uzala, traveling the Russian wilds by foot and horseback in the early 1900's. A story of human bonding, respect, admiration, learning from one another, and battling the elements.

Dersu is amazing. But "Ran" does it for me, oh boy. Kurusawa is a master.
