"WHEN I SEE A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO PUT MY WIRE, I CANNOT RESIST."

.
.
In a 1974 clandestine operation, Frenchman, Phillipe Petit, with the help of a few close friends, set up a tightrope (steel cable) in the cover of night between the very tops of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers (1,350 ft high). A little after daybreak, Phillipe walked out onto the wire where he spent more than an hour mesmerizing people as he playfully taunted the cops from the wire before finally choosing to complete his crossing to the other side:

The documentaty film, MAN ON A WIRE, is well worth seeing for the years of planning, training, friendships and committment that went into pulling it off... Especially when considering the challenge of secretly getting a 140 foot steel cable stretched between the Twin Towers with the hands of just a few men was an incredible feat in itself.

top film...surreal in many ways.
many highlights but the waiting on the top floor..miming the guards, and the inexplicable sex scene after the Twin Towers triumph leave one just laughing..
oh Philippe, you are one crazy freakin Frenchman.
